I believe she was talking about his money-raising schemes, not his intellectual might. I agree that "genius" is too strong a word, and it seems that we have become a nation where smart or genius is a description used too often for behavior that accomplishes a desired result, regardless of the means. Unethical and devious tactics can get you what you want, but, they may also bring you down in the end, which is what we are seeing with delay. Does that convey "genius"? No, I would argue that it shows simple greed, and we need to call all people out, that call it anything else, particularly when they refer to it with a desirable description such as "genius".

One idiot said he knew all about Wellesley. As a graduate of Wellesley myself, I can assure you he doesn't know anything. Wellesley graduates all sorts of women, including Republicans (unfortunately).
