The fallacy of the "liberal attacks" on DeLay mindset
Of course, this will be lost on the sheep, but there is one huge contradiction in the Right's argument that the ethics attacks on DeLay are due to a concerted effort by "liberals" and "Democrats".

The right has just spent the past 6 months (since November) pointing out how the Left/Democratic Party is in such disarray and unorganized, falling apart, directionless, and so much in the minority. To have a concerted effort, that would mean that we are able to garner our forces in an instant and have total agreement, which goes totally against all that they've been saying about us.

1. That's true. We can't be both a bunch of disorganized incompetents
AND an evil liberal empire.

2. Ohhh, EXCELLENT!
You're correct! It's either we're in complete disarray on the brink of collapse, or we're able to commence an organized and overwhelmingly effective take over. Go figure!

The fact is (with them), no matter WHAT goes wrong, Liberals are to blame for it. When it goes well, they have smashed the opposition. *sigh* True extremists.

3. Don't forget - these people are the "Absolutists"
You give a dime to a poor person, it's the fall of Democracy under the hammer of Communism/Socialism/whatever fits . . .

Whenever it's their neck on the chopping blocks, they suddenly develop "gray areas" . . .

8. It's just like this argument:
"You're all welfare kings/queens with 70 crack-addicted children!"

which becomes

"You're snobby liberal elitists who look down on the working man from your ivory tower!"

Which is it, guys? Can't have both.

9. Don't forget that the "crack mothers"
are all demanding abortions while trying to have 2000 babies each . . .

4. Trying to make sense out of Rethug "talking points" reminds me of
trying to make sense out of my alkie/druggie boyfriend's utterances years ago. It's tough making sense out of the senseless!

5. It’s not who is making the charges but whether or not they are true?
No Democrat tried to impeach Clinton it was all a Republican smear but the political based charges ended up being formally adjudicated. Let's get on with the formal inquiry as to whether Delay is dirty or not.

6. Poor, Poor DeLay
A man who in is life has poisoned everything he touched is finally facing the hammer himself. The difference is that he fabricated, framed , and twisted as he ruined caring decent folks lives for his political expedience. First let's take away his license to steal. Next lets examine what he has stolen. This is no man, this is a remorseless poisoning machine.

7. And, that this is somehow a purge by the good and moral Republicans
You know, those upstanding fellows who are just shocked, shocked! to find out what corrupt little vermin DeLay is. No, while it will be the Republicans who remove him from his political post, that will happen ONLY because it was the Democrats who insisted on holding DeLay to some sort of ethical standard.

DeLay's unrestrained corruption has been just fine with the Republicans all along, and they'd keep him where he is until they had to scrape his rotting, festering corpse off the chair in his office if they had their way. The only reason DeLay is in hot water is because the Democrats have consistently pointed out his ethics-free rule.
