Fox News prematurely pronounced the Pope dead/Video
http://www.crooksandliars.com/2005/04/01.html#a2266
Early this afternoon, Fox News prematurely pronounced the Pope dead. "At 1:23 p.m., Fox News Channel anchor Shepard Smith reported that the pope had died. At least initially, he did not cite sources," the AP reports.
FNC viewers could hear a producer yelling "the Pope is dead."

1. CNN jumped the gun also, but prefaced it with
"Reuters and the Italian media are reporting now..."
and then about two minutes later they said they couldn't verify the information and retracted it.

5. They ALL jumped the gun
But what would you expect from corporate mediawhores who are more about sensationalism and blatant propaganda than they are news anymore.

Not one of them bothered to check the fucking facts. Geez, with a billion Catholics out there waiting for the inevitable bad news, you would think accuracy might count for something just once? :grr:
