House still demanding that Terri/Michael appear on 3/25!
(Sorry for the link to FauxNews--but I didn't find this info anywhere else.)

This is unbelievable!

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,151140,00.html

FOX News has learned that the March 25 hearing of the House Government Reform Committee scheduled to look at the issue of long-term care of incapacitated adults like Schiavo will proceed. That hearing was specifically scheduled to buy Congress and Schiavo time on the matter; lawmakers subpoenaed Schiavo and her husband, as well as some hospital staff, in that hearing. What's still up in the air however, is whether that hearing will take place in Washington or in Florida. Discussion on that issue is expected Tuesday.

1. Hmmmm
They thought their big issue was going to get away from them. They have to pound on it some more before Terri dies and takes the issue with her.

They're inhuman scum.

3. How long has she been off the tube, now ?
I keep hoping that she will just slip quietly and mercifully away before this disgusting circus goes completely out of control.

5. If I were Michael, I wouldn't come. What a film that would make of
him being led out in handcuffs because the fucks in DC made it so.

8. If I was Michael Schiavo...
...I'd want to go and I would rip these guys to shreds.

Michael is just an average citizen.

Undoubtedly, he's angry and our government has trampled all over his personal, private business.

I would love to see someone say the things to Congress--that we talk about on this messageboard.

Michael could accuse them of using his private pain to leverage the religious wackos in their party. He knows more about Terri's health and the details of her case--more than anyone. House members would not get away with their lies, grandstanding and soundbytes with an authority sitting in the room.

I hope to God Michael shows up and I hope he tears into them like a garden weasel through a bed of tulips.

13. You make some good points. Michael was on Larry King last night
and I think he answered questions in what appeared to be forthright, truthful manner.

6. I don't understand what the House members think they're doing...
What are they going to do with Terri and Michael, once they are in the House chambers?

Can you imagine?

They'll grill Michael, as he sits next to his vegetative wife?

I don't mean to be graphic, but she'll be lying down or propped up next to her poor husband--and she'll be making those involuntary whooping and moaning noises.

I just can't even imagine this scene.

It will be such a horrible, sad, pitiful travesty.

Since Republicans have asked for this, I hope they get it.

I want to see them attack and interrogate this poor man, as he sits next to his subpoenaed, vegetative wife.

7. Fine. Let them.
As I was saying in a different thread, the people around Schiavo have been very careful to only feed the media video/photos of her that are no more recent than 5 years ago. I suspect if our rabid Congressmen get a good look at what she's really like now, it'll blow their whole case.

9. Did you expect them to give up?
Perhaps the court should threaten to tear her in half and give half to the parents and half to Michael. Maybe that will finally end this mess.

11. Miserable scum
Let them keep at it, they think this is a winner, this is going to cost them Congress and probably be followed up with solid impeachment charges.

12. I think they should both go.
Whenever the Rs ask Michael a question, he can say, "I'll defer to my wife on that. What do you think, honey?"
