I never get tired of hearing how much homosexuals love shoving rodents up their ass, based on a totally unfounded urban legend.

5. Mehlman's alleged gay life runs under the radar of --
-- his political influence. The Far Right denies that he is gay and he plays along. I fault him and them, not homosexuals.

I fault Mehlman because he hypocritically (is) gay yet very assertively arranges for anti-gay marriage initiatives to flood the polls in various states' elections.

I fault the Far Right generally because they pretend that GLBT people are not human beings and can therefore be manipulated and scorned -- even to the point of exclusion from basic liberties and rights enjoyed by straights -- and finally, ridiculed (Phelphs) and beaten to death along lonely Wyoming highways.

I'm sorry if it sounded like I had suddenly shifted to the right of the social/political spectrum and I will take pains to aovid it in the future.

Thanks for the heads-up, Dookus. I like your posts on DU and pay attention to them.

24. Please consider my post #3.
You missed the point of my response, which is that I do not accept Mehlman's denial, that I believe he is a closeted gay man operating against the GLBT community for his own political profit and gain.

Hetereosexual men also have prostate glands, I believe.

8. what the hell is this supposed to mean?

A gay staffer also weighed jocularly into the article, saying that the number of gay Republicans in Congress is not small.

“There’s clearly a gay Republican mafia,” one gay staffer whom Rogers has targeted told Tapper. “There’s one in every office.”
*********************************************************************

What the Hell's a "Gay Republican mafia"?!?!??!

21. That they do, yes.
One of my close friends (who just moved far away from me ) also calls himself the "house bitch" because he stays home and his partner (of 15 years) works.

It's the taking of negative words and using them in other contexts to strip them of the negative power. Period.

And, Entre Nous, Mlle.MNAZ , your slip is showing.

Once again, Your beloved "Royal We"...and, Doll, sentences need verbs to make grammatic sense.

You Queens give yourselves away each and every time.

23. The derision of Mehlman here...
is not because of his possible queerness, it is becasue of our distain for any GOP member who is a closeted-queer and belongs to a party that would stone his ass if it could get away with it.

18. This is the part of the story I take offense to
Speaking of Mehlman: “If he’s now heterosexual, I’d like to know why he’s single at 38,”

So that's all it takes to be "gay" now is being single at 38? Well if that's the case, I want my god-damned toaster oven. Actually I could care less if some narrow minded right wing shitheads want to assume I'm homosexual just because I've had bad luck with psychotic women, but it's a damn big leap. As Henry Rollins once said after similar accusations "there's nothing wrong with being gay, and they know it."

They'll have a Hell of a time trying to tie me to any stereotypes though. Can't stand showtunes, hate shopping, and couldn't give two shits about how I dress most of the time. And if the Queer Eye guys saw my apartment, they would probably all have massive coronaries and die from the horror of it.

Not to mention that little matter of being attracted to women - or at least the non-psycho ones.

If this is all they have on Mehlman, maybe they should switch their focus to Drier or whoever.

20. Steve Schmidt makes the denial. And his track record for credibility
speaks for itself:

COLUMBUS, Ohio, Oct, 17 -- John F. Kerry accused President Bush of having a secret, second-term plan to privatize Social Security starting in January, telling a church audience Sunday that the idea is "a disaster for America's middle class."

-snip-

Steve Schmidt, a spokesman for Bush, said Kerry lifted a "made-up" quote from a reporter hostile to Bush "to make a false, baseless attack."
