Condit vs. Scarborough

Gary Condit gets an apology from Domenic Dunne today (plus undisclosed amount of money). Many people jumped the gun and believed that Condit was responsible for that interns disappearance.

My question is how did Joe Scarborough survive his dead intern situation without the media seizing on him. In fact, he became one of the media.

What was the difference?

1. Scarborough is buddies with Jeb Bush

I think Jeb makes his brother * look like Mother Teresa.

2. the Condit Levy thing was used to attack the Democratic Party as a whole

and it was the big thing before 9/11. the media didn't report on the hart rudman report on terrorism and instead focused on Condit, sharks and whatever other non issue.

3. The body was found with bruises in Scarborough's office

The body in the Condit matter was found in the park and someone else did it.
