If I could only get 1 repub out of the senate
it would be Orin Hatch.

There he is, on the senate floor right now, thanking the dems by name for "trying to make the bill better." And saying how sorry he is and how bad he feels about not being able to support some of the worthy ammendments the Dems offered. Saying about the Dems "we think they did a teriffic job."

It's enough to make me want to throw up.

It seems that lying just comes natural ....

3. I think Hatch will retire soon - isn't he kind of old?
I'd get rid of one of the Southern freshmen, because otherwise they'll be around for a long time. My personal pick would be Burr, of course, because that's my home state.

7. Not a fair trade.

I have promised myself that there are two men whose hands I will never shake: Saxby and Zell. I will treat every other Republican politician with general respect but if I ever run across one of those two slimebags, I may just blow a gasket.

However, I'll take Cynthia McKinney any day.

She and John Lewis are the only hopes we have to cling to.

We'll give you Saxby for free, throw in Isakson and give you the governor.

Please.........

On edit: How could I have forgotten Ralph Reed. You can definitely have him too. :)

4. there are worse than Hatch
insufferable as he is, if I could pick one it'd have to be Tom Coburn, just on general principle.

http://www.bubbaworld.com/coburn.html

OTOH, if we're looking to kick the national party in the teeth, a Frist or Santorum would be a better choice.

13. That would be beautiful
Take out Ahnuld, Delay, Hastert, Frist, and Santorum, that would be a nice, solid shot across the bow for the GOP.

5. Sorry, but he's not quite bad enough...
We have a much BIGGER target here in PA that is the real #1 target for 2006.

9. Hatch is a nasty evil bugger but
Frist and Santorum weild a lot more weight these days. Hatch is such a narrow and old school slimeball, more of a Reagan republican than the really nasty, Rovian neocons that I don't see him as much of a threat anymore. Plus I think his being from Utah helps to keep him somewhat marginalized (not because of religion, just because Utah carries very little political weight).

10. Hopefully, Delay will be a freebee as he is convicted for his crimes.
Hatch is a total ass though. I have trouble listening to manipulative bulls*t at all these days.

12. My pick would be Santorum
I'd love to get that little sanctimonious little puppet out of there. Besides, he's my senator and that's embarrassing.

15. Casey will have a shot at Santorum - Hatch is from Utah - nevagonnahappen.
I voted for Klink against Santorum - but you sort of knew that Klink was not going to do it (lousey name and not enough funding). I don't live in PA any more - but I hope you guys do kick the bastard Santorum out!

Hatch and Santorum were the two that came to mind instantly.

14. Until we fix the computerized vote counting machine mess, we're stuck
with any republican they want to run.

Are we going to wait to fight this battle again after we lose in 2006? And then, after a month of belly-aching, we'll start talking about the 2008 election?

If we don't keep the issue on the FRONT burner, and educate EVERY American citizen about black box voting, DEMANDING paper ballots, and open, transparent vote counting, we're going to keep having more and more republicans in congress, and in EVERY STATE legislature.

Well, at least at that point, we won't have to feel the frustration of the Dems voting with the pubs....there won't BE any Dems!

sheesh!

17. Damn, it's harder to pick one in particular, now that Jesse Helms is out.
Before, selecting one Senator to obliterate off the face of the Earth was a very easy decision for me.
