My Letter to Scarborough on his Blog advice to Democrats.....

Thanks for your blog explaining what you feel Democrats need to do to "win." Trouble is, it's about more than winning some pathetic horse race. While the press may treat every election like it was just some beauty pageant, or NASCAR race, it's about the lives of people.
In America, and around the world, the policies of our government have a real impact on lives. (Yes, there are "lives" beyond the womb that need consideration) Your suggestion that the Democrats need to become essentially "Republican Lite" to win misses the point. Most of us in the opposition don't just want a kinder, gentler fascism. We actually want a better world. Becoming more like the Talibush just to win some media award is not our goal. Real and lasting change that helps people, not just corporations, is our goal.
It will take information and education to effect real change. It would be nice to have a responsible Press to help.
You have delivered your talking points like a good boy. Now go pick up your government check and get in line with all the other lap dogs.

And I meant what I said about "losing and winning". This country has become all too much about that meaningless goal. Americans care more about who "wins" Survivor than they do about why tens of thousands of Americans and Iraqis are dead and maimed. We are a country wallowing in entertainment, which just allows those who mean to do us harm to "win" time and again.
