The current Radical Right tactic.
Attack EVERYTHING. "All liberals want abortions and homosexual weddings". "The Christians in America are under attack". Blah, blah, blah.
They are just going to keep on running their LARGE MOUTHS, and they are going to wonder why they will have to face the consequences someday. And there WILL BE CONSEQUENCES.

2. Republicans control the entire government and yet they are the persecuted
These people say they love America, and I actually think that in a way they are telling the truth. They love the America of the 192o's.

3. it's all trial balloons

Plan A was to go after Social Security. That seems to be failing. Now they have to find something else that works for them- everything else they're doing is hitting various kinds of snags.

Their swing voters are starting to regret enabling all this idiocy. So they're out there fishing for an emotional hook on which to catch them again.

They've figured out about half of the game- the general variety of buttons that swing voters do respond to. But they don't understand the pattern to the ones they've found previously, so they don't know where exactly to fish for the next one. Round One is to try all the ones that worked on Republican leaners during the past year- gays, Christian decline, veiled anti-Semitism/pro-Likud talk, sexual innuendo, a little gun politics.

Be happy that they're not finding something to focus on so easily. They got a nice bump out of the Iraqi elections- they're looking for something to get them out of the hole that forms when their voters realize that there's going to be an Islamic religious regime in Baghdad in short order and Americans told not to let the door hit them in the ass on the way out. Everything they thought they had under control is squirming and breaking out again in the near future.

4. I seems to me, I'm hearing a LOT of talk about killing even
MORE "social" programs all of a sudden. It occurred to me that since the SS plan is meeting with hot resistance they've turned their attention to other "entitlement" (they love to hate that word) programs. And we KNOW that "loyal" republicans and fence sitters feel that "entitlement/social/domestic" programs are straight from Satan's hand book. :eyes:

'Oh, the programs aren't working, they are wasteful and inept, so let's just do away with them'(paraphrased by me)

There seems to be SO much double talk going on. I can't keep track of whether he's cutting this and funding that, or funding this and cutting that. It's all a bunch of mumbo jumbo (done on purpose no doubt)

It's like the old adage: If you can't convince them, CONFUSE them.

How in THEE HELL could a g.damned psychopath like bush and company EVER be allowed to stay in office. Not only is he destroying other countries, he's destroying OUR economy and harming/killing OUR citizens as well!!

It's unfreaking believable!!

6. Let's start with cutting federal highway and disaster assistance programs
Let's cut federal education funding. The red states are just using it for school prayer and creationism, anyway.

Forget about federal healthcare. Let the states do that. I don't want to pay for doctors that refuse to provide contraception.

Let's phase-out federal welfare and replace it with a state-based program.

Let the states be self-sufficient, and self-reliant like Republicans say they want to be.

And eventually we should significantly raise state taxes, but lower federal taxes to almost nothing.

I am tired of paying for people who are out to destroy us. And by those people, I mean the politicians and freepers of the red states. I don't mean all southerners. I just mean those who are actively seeking to destroy us.

5. Ooh! I know! Bush's budget cuts will drive people to faith-based service
Think about it:

1) Destroy all the jobs
2) Make people poor
3) Cut government programs
4) Increase faith-based money

All of which Bush is doing already.

Soon, if you want to put food on the table, you will have two choices:

1) Join the army

2) Pledge your soul to Jesus

I just wonder how soon it will be until everyone needs to be micro-chipped and barcoded if they want to eat.

7. Oh Boy-->"micro-chipped and barcoded " I think this one is
just around the corner. Yikes!

I was chatting with a person in another thread last night. We were discussing the National ID card thingy again. Two fellows, one from UK another from Germany said they are fighting the same plans in their respective countries; said some places like Spain already had a similar thing in place.

Then I spoke with a friend on the telly tonight who reminded me to pick up a copy of: "No Place to Hide" (don't remember the author). It's about all this bar coding and microchipping stuff... I'm not liking the sound of this crap. :scared:
