Bad news for Edwards -- I just contributed $100 to his campaign
In 2002, I contributed money to Max Cleland, Jean Carnahan, Jeanne Shaheen, and Paul Wellstone. Detect a pattern? Ok, I gave money to Mary Landrieu, so I'm not completely cursed.

Still, I couldn't help myself. I find Edwards to be an extremely appealing candidate. He's good looking, articulate, and projects optimism and confidence. His two youngest children are adorable and will make wonderful props on the campaign trail (hey, whatever works). He's from the South and can speak credibly about faith and values. And most importantly, he has a coherent message, targeted principally at the middle class voters we desperately need, and, as the son of a mill worker who worked his way through college and (unlike Bush) made his money the old fashioned way (he EARNED it), he's perfectly suited to deliver this message (unlike, say, the aristocratic John Kerry).

5. You have a similar track record as I do
The minute I financially or publically commit to a candidate, they lose. I'm banking that Dean will put an end to that trend. Here's hoping your bad luck is stronger than mine.
