Since it's still "Morning Business", they don't have to talk about the Rice nomination until formal debate resumes at 10:30 AM Eastern.

8. They've had more than one of these this morning and everytime
one of those gonzos gets up there and ask for a moment of silence in sepulchural tones, I want to scream. None of these lives would have been lost if they hadn't sanctioned a lie. None of these people would be dead if they hadn't handed a blank check to * and abrogated their constitutional duty. Both sides of the aisle simply sicken me.

3. That stupid Mccain....
we should send him some dead flowers. Who heard him say that the dems were only postponing confirmation because they were bitter about the election? What a dumb ass. Of course we're bitter, but the reason they're stalling confirmation is because Condi is a miserable failure and didn't deserve to be promoted.

Better question if Biden's confirming why does he have 20 minutes when others only have five minutes? frankly he's wasting time trying to justify himself rather than engage in productive debate.

76. Thank God at least a few a telling the truth. Go Senator Boxer!
Why I'm voting no! ...I gave her every opportunity, I asked her five questions\

She continues to put out these misstatements.

I think it is bad for the Senate and I think it's bad for the American People

Responsibility matters,

Accountability matters.

178. Just because Rice
has an inspirational story of coming from humble beginnings and even has experience in the field, does not mean that she is qualified for the job and does not make her someone that should be deified before the public. If she is dishonest, secretive and follows policies that I do not support, I could give a shit if she knows how to play the piano. I am certain there were many Nazi's that came from humble beginnings and had musical talent and "culture" as well. Hitler was EVIL, but he was also a very intelligent and charismatic leader of his people.

How can we not "Monday Morning Quarterback"? We MUST base our decisions not only on someones paper qualifications, but also upon their actions and choices. She has chosen poorly and acted poorly... so obviously we have to promote her.

The insanity in this country is infuriating!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I don't know how much more of it I can take.

Olaf

236. It is an historic No vote total
Typically a president gets most of his cabinet nominees without much problem.

Senators have cast "nay" votes against only five of the 30 people nominated to be America's top diplomat since the start of the 20th Century.

Henry Kissinger had the most opposition, drawing seven negative votes as President Richard Nixon's nominee in 1973 during the Vietnam War. Rice appeared likely to at least match Kissinger's total of negative votes.
