What are their main vulnerabilities?
The conservative movement/takeover of our government. What is their Achilles heel? What aspect of their criminal and treasonous activity do you believe offers some hope for exploitation?

My sense over the past month has been that more and more democrats are speaking out. I believe that a lot of what is happening in Washington right now is a result, in part, to the activism that boards like DU and orgs like moveon. The constant e-mails and letters, they are making a difference folks.

So the question remains, what one or two areas should we focus our efforts on in terms of attacking. Where are they vulnerable?

1. Social Security
When John Boozman, R Conman with a very safe seat, writes me a letter assuring me that he will protect SS, I know he's running scared (usually he follows the straight Bush line, and doesn't mind telling me in his letters to me). According to the AR Dem/Gazette, a right wing rag, 100% of letters on SS from senior citizens were opposed to any change. Arkansas went for Bush, mainly, I think, because of the influence of churches. Haven't heard any preachers saying that changing SS is good, so I think the people are thinking for themselves on this.

2. Getting an
unscripted question off to chimpy makes him freeze up like an Eskimo's butt. We need to get as many off the cuff questions thrown at him as possible. Of course, we will need journo's willing to make the sacrifice of losing access, but it's a thought.

3. They will lie, overreach, practice corruption, and fight among themselves.

Democrats need to exploit all of these things whenever they occur. Bush's inaugural speech will provide the first opportunity. He will lie about several things and anger some republicans with some of his comments and proposals. Democrats need to be ready to identify the lies and look for ways to encourage any republican anger at Bush. After that, the timing of every issue and everything else is under Bush's control. Democrats need to address every issue with the idea of convincing the public that corrupt one party control of the government is bad for America and Americans.

4. Their dogmatism, their rigidity
They are incapable of admitting something just isn't working and they're incapable of reassessing the situation and trying to figure out something that might work. As their dogma fails more and more, they alienate most of their support.

They'll pin the failure on their own moderates if we just stay out of the way for a while. It will hurt to do so, but it's a way we guarantee they start feeding on their own as they start to fail miserably and unmistakably.
