Has anybody "gamed out"the challenge?
Just curious.

The Repubs have had plenty of time to anticipate this. If you were Bill Frist, what strategy would you take? What are the Repub options? How will they play it?

Thoughts?

1. Short term- I expect RW radio talking points and Dem slamming
Lots of "Get over it" especially in the House.

Long Term -Boxer's initiative are DOA for at least the next two years.

3. Rep.Joseph Pitts (R-Pa.) just fired the first salvo
~ Some people will not accept the DECISIVE VICTORY of PResident George W. Bush.....

He then went on to paint anyone who dare question this overhelming victory as nutjobs and conspiracy theorists.

J.D Hayworth is on now with more. He has mention "conspiracy theories" at least three times in a minute.

Kucinich told the speaker to CALL THE POLICE! in regard to privatization of Soc. Security.

Some white guy in a suit (missed name) was just on "Boxer rebellion" "62 Million""Sore losers"

They have their talking points.

5. They are on the talking points
I am sure the talking points were handed out to the GOP masses last night in prep for this move.

I want to say, wow, thank you Barbara Boxer...even though it is purely a symbolic move. When Al was stolen from, none of them had the guts to stand up to it.

The move will get some press coverage, as usual much more in the print news media, and may draw a kind of line in the sand to show the GOP majority the Dems won't be rolling over in Congress...all good ways to start the session.

Gonzales hearings should be fun, too. The man is headed to the Supreme Court if he gets in as AG and there is an opening.
