the 2006 Kerry, Clark, Gephardt, Dean Populist Platform
Plank one, from John Kerry: Every American can buy into the same heath care system that federal employees can. This is not quite universal health care, but it comes very close.

Plank two, from Wes Clark: Restore the Progressive tax, hike the income tax rate on the wealthy to make up for the budget deficit, and exempt anyone making 30k or less.

Plank three, from Dick Gephardt: Enact a Living Wage for all Americans, so all adults with a job can afford a decent, American quality of life.

Plank four, from Howard Dean - End the War and Bring our Troops Home now!

It's too bad we couldn't get all that in one package. If we did we would win elections every time.

2. Sounds like you know who...
Dennis Kucinich. Except that Kucinich was for total Universal Health Care. Edwards and Kucinich were the ones with the most populist message in that race. Gephardt did to some extant but that was weakened by his record in the House.

Hopefully we can find a populist like that who doesn't look goofy and eat vegan like Kucinich and who can win a few more states in the South and Midwest than Kerry did.

3. Populist who is not a vegan and can win in the South and Midwest
Sounds like a job for General Clark -

A true progressive - man of the people, not a phony
sonofamillworker slick lawyer but a up from the bootstraps bright
first in his class at West Post, Rhodes Scholar, Master in economics, Vietnam war hero, former NATO SACEUR, a man who has lived a life of VALUES - country, family, a son of Arkansas, who won the Democratic
primary in Oklahoma, endorsed by groups from the Indian Nation to the Advocate -
