Powell could have been a hero
His resignation comes about two years too late.

He sold out to this criminal administration.

He is just as responsible for the deaths and the mayhem in Iraq as is Chimpy, Crashcart, Rumsfailed and CondoLIESza.

I'm sure there will be lots of speculation if Powell will write a "tell all" book.

I wont buy it. He wont get a CENT from me.

1. people keep failing to realize..
There are just as many nutballs waiting in the wings to replace the current crop of losers in the cabinet, only they are even crazier.

Yeah, he's responsible, but resigning earlier wouldn't have changed anything.

3. I agree that it would not have changed anything
but as I said.... he would have been a hero.

I actually thought he had a conscience. Apparently not.

5. Will his tell-all book reveal his attempt to cover up My Lai?
And I can't wait for the true story of Iran/Contra. He was in that up to his neck.

Somehow, he still managed to hold on to a semblence of honor. That's all gone now.

6. Powell is the classic coulda, woulda, shoulda
of this barbaric administration. Was squandering his reputation, character and values worth it? The real scary part is the replacement lackey: who and what shall it be and what kinds of howls will come from the foreign press as the US domestic sheepdog press is not sure how to get their full rations of Rove Rin Tin Tin biscuits right now.

7. Good riddence.
Powell provided cover for this administration's invasion. He could have done the honorable thing and resigned instead of lying to the world at the UN....but he never got to where he was by standing up to the system. His career is built on being a reasonable face for the MIC.

That's no longer needed, the velvet gloves can come off.

9. Yeah, but he ends up a lying shit eater.
Funny how that can happen, isn't it? The verge of greatness is mighty thin.
