Red States Shouldn't Be Dictating "Family Values" To Anybody
The highest divorce rates - red states
The highest infant mortality rates - red states
The highest teen mortality rates - red states
The highest automobile mortality rates - red states
The highest illiteracy rates - red states

Seems like all that home schooling, jesus fearin', down home family values just plain AIN'T WORKIN'

When are liberals going to start forcing the media to acknowledge these statistics and start to have a national discussion about them and the failure of the fundamentalist's version of "family values"?

1. I'm being very mean but . . .
Maybe each one will be killed in a car accident while arguing with an ex-spouse over their dead kids because they couldn't read the traffic signs.

2. The problem w/ threads like this is 100% of people in red states didn't
vote for bush. And to then assume that only those who did suffer from high divorce rats, etc.. is just silly.

I'm telling you people...WE NEED GRASSROOTS FOLK OUT THERE EDUCATING PEOPLE ON THE ISSUES FROM NOW UNTIL NOVEMBER IN 2008 AND BEYOND.

3. educating people
I think that's what the poster is talking about. Their way ain't working and it's about time somebody pointed it out. Alot of blue voters in red states have probably been fighting over the same issues for years. I could add to that list, highest crime rates and highest murder rates. Probably a whole lot more.

9. Why do you bring up the Divorce rate among Rats?.
I mean, I used to have some Rats as Pets but frankly, I really couldn't care if they ALL get Divorces. :)

4. "morals" and "family values" are euphemisms in Murka
for "hypocrisy"

7. We Shouldn't Paint Them All Red with a Broad Brush...
...because fact of the matter is--putting aside neo-cons/nazis prevalent in our nation who just refuse to go extinct, but dwindling in numbers nonetheless--many Americans in those States have voted liberal/progressive!
Florida, Ohio, New Mexico and maybe even South Carolina have heard, and understood the "blue-staters', because they all voted for John Kerry as opposed to Bush, only, as long as Republican-hacks own, and control our election process, we have a problem with getting that crucial info out, especially with Bush-fawning corporate media broadcasting skewed reports favoring Republicans in order to maintain power over the American people whom they've obviously not-so-secretly pledged to disenfranchise and enslave to the betterment of million, and billionaires.
Let's not lose focus, and play the "blame-game". Yelling at them won't help either. Slowly turning red states into blue will, and this already happened in 2000, when Gore won New Mexico, and Florida, but was cheated of this win, and the WH by Republican media, and election officials.
Try to remember that.
Focus on the problem, not the symptom.
