Poll question: Lighthearted poll for the straight women and gay men of DU
Edited on Sat Nov-13-04 02:07 AM by Miami Liberal
or any straight guy who is confident enough with their sexuality to partake in the poll. If you think I'm missing anyone below please let me know.

Who do you think is the sexiest male democratic politician?

22. Same here, lol. I had a tough time
choosing between Wes and Barack. I went with Wes because I've followed him for longer and he's such an incredibly masculine man....and those eyes, that smile. (melts)

Barack is closer to my age and is gorgeous. And his voice makes me tingle. He's simply got "it."

Clark/Obama '08. That would be one sexy, smart ticket. :P

48. Is it too early for "Clark 08" stickers?
I've been thinking of making up a bumper sticker of that and putting it on my car. Actually, that came to mind on Nov. 3rd.

Clark is an unnervingly attractive man. I thought he was part Russian on his father's side, and I think some of the good looks must come from that part of his heritage. I'm a figure skater, and those devastatingly attractive Russian pairs skaters like Sergei Grinkov and Anton Siharulidze (sp.? - The one from 2002)come immediately to mind.

51. The Clark '08 stickers might be

a bit premature. I don't want the GOP to paint a target on his back, but I sure plan on holding on to my "America Needs Wes Clark" bumper sticker and hope it will be relevant.

Wes is "unnervingly attractive" as you said. His classically handsome face and intellect are an irresistible combination. Even a Republican acquaintance of mine admitted to me during the early days of the Iraq War that she had never had a crush on an older man, but she did have one on General Clark. I smiled, knowing in my heart that he is a Democrat and that she had no idea.

What's amazing is how much younger and attractive Clark looks in person (again, those EYES!) He's not short either. Compact, yes. Short, no. My husband and I had our pic made with Wes and Gert. I'm 5'7" and had heels on and Wes is still a few inches taller than me. My husband is 6'0" and looks about a couple of inches taller than Wes. I'd guess he's about 5'10".

41. Sure, if you go for the yuppie with shellacked-on hair look.
Don't get me wrong, I think Gavin proved himself as a stand-up dude on the subject of Gay Marriage. And I was a Matt Gonzales supporter. Some argue that Newsom hurt us this election, some even argue that he was secretly trying to help Bush along with his high tax bracket Marina friends... I don't buy either of those, and even if the first one is true, I don't buy that there is a "right time" and a "wrong time" to do the right thing.

And I'm a straight man.

But I'm not happy, aesthetically speaking, that San Francisco has been overrun with 3 piece suit yuppies. I'll take the Jerry Garcia look over the Brooks Bros. Look any day.

Obama's principles blow him out of the water. Obama wouldn't have voted for the IWR, and that's attractive.

Of course, I'm bi, so let me say that Cynthia McKinney is also attractive, for the same reason.

There is something about Democratic men that is just sexy as all get out.

Clark is a major hottie with brains and looks for days--and so is Obama. But if you stop to consider it--EVERY man on that list is attractive, smart and the kind of man you just know would bring out your best for an entire lifetime. Those are some lucky wives!

52. I voted for Howard Dean
Edited on Sat Nov-13-04 10:29 PM by Moonbeam_Starlight
for a few reasons (and remember this is only my opinion):

1. I think he actually is physically attractive and sexy. I'm 34 and I never thought I'd say that about a guy in his 50s, but ROWWWRRRRRR. He makes me purr.

2. Who he is is sexy. He speaks truth to power. He's passionate. I feel he really believes what he says and he is sincere. THAT'S sexy, too.

3. Smart as hell. Mmmmmmm. Big brains turn me on.

All in all, Governor Dean could put me over his knee and spank me anytime.
(I've met him. It was all I could do not to lick him, but I thought the people around him--and his wife--might not appreciate that. Neither would my husband.)

66. I tried to think of five names for a rethug poll but had to give up...
it was "hard work".

Of course, over in freepville they have a, "Is it hot in here or is it Cheney club". I think they're serious.

My pick: The General. I even liked him in the argyle sweater.

(we need a drooling emoticon)

69. But seriously, does the other side have any serious sex appeal?
I don't mean just hot guys who happen to be Republican, I mean like in the leadership. Either in Congress, in the executive branches at federal and state levels, or RNC.

72. Hell No!
Rethuglican politicans are the most vile looking men I've ever seen and Karl Rove is best example of that.

75. Sorry, I just can't vote in your poll.
ALL Dem men are sexy, not just the politicos!

Hmmm... now I'm just salivating thinking of my hubby in bed, whispering "Universal Health Care for all....". .. "A living wage for everybody..." *sigh*

:-)

80. It's Bill for me, however
Obama and Edwards are right up there. IMVHO, Bill exudes intelligence, authenticity, humbleness, terrific humor, and self-efacement. I just love the man!

82. Agreed. You think you have moved on, then Bill comes back and
there he is all freshly recovered from his surgery and your heart misses a beat all over again. And, I had mistakenly thought I had given my heart to Kerry or Edwards. As long as there is a Bill, he'll get my vote.

83. I'd do anyone of them but Wes is the one. He is appealing and
handsome, smart and so true and good, any age wants that. Some of the others aren't cross-generational. Wes is. He would be a friend, you know? He is a good, good, good man. They all are but he has that certain something more. :)

looks, brains, compassion and common sense. He's a hunk! :bounce:

But ... both Dean and Clark are a close second. :loveya:

88. I have wierd taste
I'd throw any one of them over for DK. Principles are definitely something I look for and his good natured geekishness is more my style.

For pure looks at the present day it's Obama, but that picture of Dean in his youth is amazing, and pictures of Kerry in his younger days show such intensity and purpose in his eyes.

Clark does nothing for me and neither does Gore.
