so I don't want to hear any namby-pamby 'compromise your values so that you can get somebody who will also compromise his/her values in Congress" talk.
Most people wanted the Assault Weapons ban, including a high number of Texans (where a LOT of us have guns). Does the fact that the NRA represented it as a bad thing change MY mind? No.
If a lot of people support the war in Iraq, it doesn't change my view that it was wrong to go there, and it's wrong to still be there.
I don't know what percentage of women are against abortion and want to impose their view/pocketbook on all citizens but it doesn't change my view that women own their own bodies and should be able to privately make their own choices.
Ignore isn't working right now, but I plan to put all such people who, today, say that we ought to compromise our DEMOCRATIC VALUES in order to win congressional seats.
