How to make a quickie poll tracker in Excel
Start by opening an new spreadsheet. In Column A put a list of the 50 states. Mine has Alabama at cell A3.

Put "Kerry" in cell B2. Put "Bush" in C2. D2 has "Winner" or whatever you like, E2 says "Kerry EV", F2 says "Bush EV" and G2 has "State EV."

In Cell D3 put this formula:

=IF(B3>C3,"Kerry",IF(B3+C3=0,"No Poll",IF(C3>B3,"Bush",IF(B3=C3,"Tie"))))

Put this formula in cell E3:

=IF(D3="Kerry",G3,0)

And this in cell F3:

=IF(D3="Bush",G3,0)

In Cell G3, put the electoral vote count for each state.

Now select cells D3, E3 and F3 and duplicate them down for each state.

Finally, as polls come in just enter them for each state.
