The polls are headed in the wrong direction, guys..
We've now lost the Washington Post poll?

I'm very, very concerned when ALL the polls are headed in the wrong direction.

Somebody please comfort me. I need a support group.

33. You get upset pretty easily
Among RVs in that tracking poll, Kerry is up 1; Bush is up 1 among LVs. A tie is bad? No poll has Bush with a lead outside the margin of error. Kerry has gone from 7 down in the TIPP tracking poll to 3 down in a couple of days. BTW, that poll had Bush up 9 two days before the 2000 election.

Plus, you do know that a campaign's internal polls are usually different from the public polls? The Kerry people know what they're doing.

37. I've been seeing so many posts about the lack of Bush/Cheney signs...
in Republican areas. Reading about Republicans who are no longer supporting Bush. Really, besides Zell Miller...is there any Democrats (and I use the words "Democrats" and "Zell Miller" VERY LOOSELY) who are voting for Bush instead of Kerry?

There's a palpable shift to Bush. I get myself crazy going to electoral-vote.com...because what's on there just doesn't jibe with all of the real life evidence that people don't think the country is headed in the right direction. Hell, Bush has less than 50$ approval rating...and yet the polls say Bush is ahead??? This defies logic. This defies common sense.

Kerry is going to win. It won't be a landslide, like some people have said. But John Forbes Kerry is going to be the next President of the United States. Period.

46. REMEMBER THIS!
Bush has overwhelming support in the Red States. In many of those states he leads by more than 20%. So, the only reason Bush is tied is because he's getting a disproportionate amount of support from the Red States. If the polls are correct, then Kerry will win the EC, but lose the popular vote.

Look here to see how lopsided Bush's support is:

To the original poster: I've been to some of the swing states and my gut and my eyes tell me Kerry is going to win this with a much larger margin than the conservative mainstream media would have us believe. Have you seen any of the numbers for new voter registration among Dems? It's unfuckingbelievable. I'm even feeling good about North Carolina my friend. that the race was dead even ( B.49, K.48 today, K.49,B.48 yesterday) and that K was down by five a week ago.

This is the "wrong direction"? I'm not getting you. The polls are mixed... most seem to be about even.

I think most of the polls are straightforward but that K's real vote will be several pts ahead of the poll average... as Gore's was last time.

70. I think we'll know the outcome on Sunday night
Zero move and I think Kerry narrowly sneaks in. A move toward Kerry and we obviously cruise. But if the national polls over the next three days consensus indicate a move toward Bush, I think he's the likely winner.

I undersand my emphasis differs from others on DU. I pay much more attention to national polls than state, and have more faith in their accuracy. With so few undecideds at this point, the comparisons to 2000 are not completely valid. Kerry has very little escape room if Bush inches toward 50%. And Bush is almost finished if he flatlines at 48% or less.

I just wish the damn oil prices hadn't dropped and the stock market jumped 250+ points the past three days. Mostly I encourage Kerry to go positive and soon. The apolotical people I quiz on the street or in Las Vegas casinos every day don't give a damn about missing weapons, but retain general reservations about Kerry.
