Bush flop...
I love it. Bush continues to give the "weapons missing" story legs by giving multiple excuses for why this is a non-story. If he would have just let it go the media would have forgot about it within a day or so.

Now, every time new information comes out that contradicts Bush's excuses, the media jumps on it and keeps the story alive. If this new video from ABC's channel five moves to the national media, we might see this go on for another few days.

1. Now Let Me Get This Straight...
Two things in the past 24 hours...

1.) Several Iraqis who were not only on site and can claim the weapons were at the facility when the U.S. invaded (THAT'S THE ISSUE, NO??) and also saw the looting that went on.

2.) Now a Minneapolis TV station had embeds that have video proof, dated and all, that shows the munitions in those bunkers in those same days?

Now, call me a skeptic, and I am one who has no doubt this gross negligence occured, but is this regime that sloppy to try to fight and cover this thing up knowing Kerry and others had other shoes to dropped. I thought Rove was smarter...guess not anymore.

This is gonna be fun to watch...just how long will it take for CNNservative to stop running this regime's lies and be forced to tell the truth...again!

all the stuff he has flung out..people are always more suspicious now..before he was just a sneaky little slug but now people suspect ANYTHING that is "odd" or "strange"

I think Rove and Co. f'd this up...they weren't prepared to answer until 48 hours had passed

4. Their Response Has Been Awkward
They're stuck in a tar baby and just got themselves stuck in real deep.

If all the ducks line up here, we've caught this regime in gross negligence past (the munitions should have been secured), present (why did it take so long for this to be reported to the IAEA) and future (semtex car bombs for everyone for the forseeable future).

It's amazing the conspiracy spins I'm hearing from the wingnuts...all gripping at straws. There's supposedly some Russian diplomat (always the wingnuts' most credible source) that claims to have been part of this transfer of weapons to Syria. One problem here...where's the witnesses and intel that we surely would have seen since Wolfie & Pearle and those assholes would have used them to invade Syria by now. Syria's been under as sharp a microscope as Iraq was at that time.

Or there's the distortion that these were Saddam's weapons. They were weapons the IAEA had under seal...under international agreement...that were to be destroyed but thanks to Bunnypants and his jerking with the IAEA, UN and other international groups, let this entire mess create in his vain glorious attempts at "shock and awe".

The chickens couldn't come home to roost at a finer time.

6. I wish someone would ask BushCo about now
how he didn't get the memo. Everyone in the free world is reporting (and showing) the videos of the 101st giving the embedded journalist the grand tour of the "missing" explosives. We have Iraqis reporting they personally saw them. Evidence is piling up that the weapons were there long after we had taken the country and we didn't bother to secure them. How is it everyone with a half a brain knows this but Bush & Co. don't? Do they own a TV or a radio? If they can't keep an eye on the local media should they be trusted with the bigger jobs - like a whole damn country? Would love to see Scrub try to do the Texas Two Step with that one.

Do we need to get a pool up? Who do you think the first person will be to take the fall for Bush within the administration? I'm thinking Tommy Franks is feeling a little paranoid right now.

2. IT's okay for Bush, the new Terror Alert scheduled for today will push
the explosives story out of the headlines.

I expect a raising of the terror alert level by noon today.
