Kerry is too expensive to protect says freeper
not much else left to say, is it? Poor freepers

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-gop/1251947/posts
Becoming president would automatically include taking care of all their properties with Secret Service Agents that includes 5 agents per 6 hour shift 4 times a day 365 days of the year for the rest of their lives ! so long as they own those properties. It comes with being President, o nce you are elected. It requires us the taxpayers, to pay for this as well as his annual salary, as well as his retirements including the cost of living adjustments to boot, plus salaries and protection for all their real estate property, plus Secret Service Agents, and pay the bills for the rest of his life. In addition, feed the Secret Service Agents and rotate new ones every 6 hours for the rest of his life.

Do the math. Five properties need to be protected. This requires five Secret Service Agents per shift, daily every six hours, per property! That is 20 Secret Service Agents per day per property everyday including Holidays. Wow, what does that cost?

Lets say an average of 20 agents per property, each earning a about $60K per agent to survey the perimeters and protect. Now times that by five properties so far. That is if the Kerrys do not buy any more properties afterwards. This also includes the Agents ! vehicles and repairs, gas, meals, days off, paid vacation, and medical plan visits etc per agent.

Who pays? YOU pay, the whole time they are alive after becoming President! Is this the best use of our tax money electing Kerry to take care of all their properties, both foreign and domestic? On the other hand, shouldn't he pay for his own? Yet, the Presidential salary could not afford it.

The more I think about paying for Kerrys properties everyday, just makes me happy keeping President Bush all the more merrier. Without raising taxes to boot.

3. Isn't That Perilously Close . . .
to a threat to a President Kerry's physical safety? Don'tcha think? Otherwise, why would even a Freeper make such a tortured point.

These people will stop at NOTHING. NOTHING.

Think the final scene of "Notorious," when Claude Rains realizes he's stuck in that big house with the Nazi's.

20. Good job! I thought it sounded bogus when I heard it

from a friend this morning, who got this message in an e-mail. Don't know why I didn't think of Snopes myself, mental fatigue, I guess. I just e-mailed my friend so she can e-mail her Republican brother and set him straight. ;-)

30. It's definitely bogus
and I made the same mistake of posting this drivel here. Another DUer referred me to the snopes.com info, so I'm just doing my duty passing it on.

So in a way I guess they are consistant...they want as many people dead as possible!

16. A friend told me today about getting an e-mail making the same

claims. Who's driving this? Rush? Hannity? Probably not Mr. Bill as he's busy explaining loofa and felafel to his wife!

I wonder if it's true that Secret Service protects all homes of a president, whether or not the POTUS is in residence. After all, presidents go and stay in hotels, homes of other people, etc., and Secret Service goes first and sweeps the property, making sure there are no bombs, etc., then they guard him while he's there, and then they leave. Why is it different for houses he owns? Are they really guarding the pig farm 365 days a year, having 20 agents there daily? I'm very skeptical of this claim.

I also am sure that the right wingers would think owning five homes was peachy keen if Bush* were the guy with five homes. Hypocrisy, thy name is Republican!

17. So you suppose this idiot
has ever penciled out the cost of Gerald Ford, who was not elected to the Vice-presidency or Presidency yet has enjoyed all the perks of ex-prez for almost 30 years now. Less than 3 years as appointed prez, 30 as ex and counting.

27. Kerry could dispel some of this by declining his salary.
I don't know if he could, of course, but there is a precedent for it (Kennedy, IIRC).

29. It isn't even a factor
Kerry will only get 10 years of protection and the level of protection does not extend to all properties owned only to the agents that travel with him. Overall, the amount paid is a pittance.
