Our Iraq Casualty Count site gets "wreath-blogged"

From the email bag;

I recently saw two signs, one in a WW II memorial park, and one at a soldiers' monument. They read as follows:

1060

October, 2004

Updates:www.icasualties.org

The signs were set in a wreaths of artificial flowers. Many of my friends and family would like to obtain signs and wreaths to display both publicy, and on our private property. Can we order through you, or if not, do you where? They could be offered for sale on your web-site, with the proceeds going to peace groups or the families of the fallen and wounded.

1. The icasualties site..
Lynn,

Unbelievable job of keeping that site updated! ~~ :grouphug:

This past autumn, I sent in a donation via paypal to them. One of the guys there.. (I forget which one) sent back a super nice e-mail acknowledging that he had received it.

It was the last day of a month that I wrote him.. and he said that as important as the documentation they compile is, it's sad to continually add names to the ever-growing list.

He said that he was just preparing to add the first day of a new month, and that he already had new names to include. :(

It's mind-boggling sometimes to see the amount of injuries and fatalities on there. But I have to hand it to you guys.. you do an incredible job of updating and compiling the info there.

2. Thank you SO much!
For the kind words AND the donation! That would be Michael you emailed with; he pays for the site out of his own pocket, so thank you so much for helping out!

It's incredibly sad and very wearing, to every day be adding names. I personally knew several soldiers who have been killed and more who've been wounded, and for over a year it was my own hubby's name I dreaded seeing on any of our newsfeeds.

Now it's my nephew's name I hope not to see.

We on the ICC also often see what the rest of the world outside of the USA sees; the live news videos of troops screaming hysterically as they're bleeding to death, various body pieces and lots of blood everywhere; or the stills showing dead troops, dead Iraqi men, women, children, babies; vidoes and stills of American/"coalition"/Iraqi families screaming in pain; troops crying.

One news reel showed a hummer hit by an RPG; it sheared off the legs of 3 soldiers. A medic was trying to stop the bleeding from one of the soldier's stumps...he grabbed a soldier's blown-off leg to use as a prop to hold the soldier's stump upwards.

And we also search for all personal stories to post; who were these teenagers and men and women sent to die for bush's lies? What were their hobbies? Did they have children? What were their hopes and dreams? Several soldiers were older retired men; to lose what they'd built their lives towards is very sad. But to see the American teenagers who never got a chance at life I find even sadder.

bush & Cartel sneak these American men, women & teenagers back home in the dead of night in their "transfer tubes", but we WILL NOT allow the dead to pass unremarked, unnoticed, forgotten.
