7. What's with the insult to "some yankees"?
First of all, what's with the anti-yankee sentiment?

Second, if you took a second to Google Granny D, you'd find that she's an amazing woman. At the age of 90, she walked across this country to call attention to the need for campaign finance reform. On a more local level, she's called attention (not that attention needs calling, mind you) to the effect that rising property taxes have had on those with fixed incomes, such as herself.

At the age of 94, still with her wits and good humor, is taking on one of NH's four Republican legislators. Does she stand a chance? Unfortunately not, but she's giving it her all and is a tremendous inspiration for those much younger.

As for the "some yankee" comment, over the past few years I have been generally impressed with DUers respect for cultural and ethnic differences. Being a Yankee can mean being from any one of six New England states (I'll assume that you can actually name them), each distinct. On top of that not everyone in these states is a "Yankee," as there has been fairly substantial in-migration over the past decade, so there's no telling just who you're insulting when you throw out that blanket Yankee appellation. But insult you did.

2. Sad, really. Sure would be a hoot to watch her in the Senate however.
