Co-worker pointed out something I find hard to believe
(she usually points out the ironic fact that her husband somehow was put on a Bush/Cheney mailing list - they are both rabid anti-bush people).

She claimed (and I'm taking this with a grain of salt, until evidence proves otherwise) that Bush can't even get the date correct on the biggest terrorist act of US history.

She claimed that Bush has often said it was September 10th.

Is anybody able to verify this? Audio links?

1. I recall him saying that once or twice.
Though just the other day he said it was September 4th.

2. Which is pretty amazing when you realize that he's reading off a
teleprompter or getting coached in his ear by wire.

4. it's probably this....
B/C constantly refer to Kerry as having a September 10th mentality towards the War on Terror.

and, the Sept. 4th gaffe referred to his appearance at Ground Zero on the 14th. that was a pretty meanlingless mistake for chimpy.

7. Yeah, that sounds right
I asked her before if she heard the "Sept 10th mentality" and she said "No.". Sounds like the 9/10 is the "mentality" speech.

More likely the one she really means is the "I stood on the ruins of the WTC on 9/4".

The rest of the times he refers to 9/11 look right. I would, though, expect that if they're publishing the speech as written not spoken, they would not include the "(applause)" and "(laughter)" marks. Unless, of course, there's the classic guy with the signs saying "Applause" and "laughter" to cue the crowd when Bush is supposed to be saying something smart or witty.

Cue the guy with the sign "Four more years!"

6. Here it is. White House link to his speech
I have a record in office, as well. And all Americans have seen that record. September the 4th, 2001, I stood in the ruins of the Twin Towers. It's a day I will never forget. Bernie might remember the workers in hard hats that were yelling at me and yelling at us, "Whatever it takes." A man grabbed me by the arm, just coming out of the rubble and he said, "Do not let me down." I have a responsibility that goes on. I wake up every morning thinking about how to make our country more secure. I acted again and again to protect the American people. I will never relent in defending our country, whatever it takes. (Applause.)

8. In the 1st debate, * mentioned a "Pre-Sept 10 mentality"
which, in my opinion, lends credence to the MIHOP/LIHOP thing.

9. Remember his daddy?
In a speech during the 1992 campaign, he told his audience that "on September 7th, 1941 we were hit, and hit hard..."

Jay Leno remarked that evening that it was no wonder the Japanese attacked us: George Bush was out there all through October and November shooting at them.
