Got this published in the Dallas Republican Snooze on Sunday. I'm not the proudest of it as I was a little bit pie-eyed at the time (immediately after the debate), and I know perfectly well the quote's from the Bible, not BY John Kerry, and I wouldn't have chosen the word "discourse" if cold stone sober. But that'll teach me to write LTTEs while in an altered state. And it was from the heart. Anyway, I got it in, and the funny thing was I subsequently got TWO phone calls from people who I would have sworn were Republicans saying, in effect, "Right on!"
So there ya go, FWIW:
Heart, brain and soul
"Faith without works is dead." What a wonderful discourse by John Kerry. He then said:
"Everything you do in public life has to be guided by your faith, affected by your faith, but without transferring it in any official way to other people. That's why I fight against poverty ... to clean up the environment ... fight for equality and justice. All ... come out of that fundamental teaching and belief of faith.
"But I know this, that President Kennedy in his inaugural address told all of us that here on earth, God's work must truly be our own."
I am convinced that John Kerry has the heart, the brain and the soul to be the next president of the United States.
