US schools' crisis plans found in Iraq
Warnings issued; threat questioned
By Ben Feller, Associated Press | October 8, 2004

WASHINGTON -- Federal law enforcement authorities notified six school districts in five states last month that a CD found by the US military in Iraq contained crisis-planning information about their schools, two US officials said yesterday.

And now we will have the media "told how to proceed"...good thing we found the "passport from 911"...it showed who attacked us....right?

1. Mothers have no fear....Bush is here to protect yer youngins from EVIL!
Terror seems to be what BushCo thrives on. In an effort to convert "soccer moms" to "security moms" BushCo has been using the Russian school massacre to imply a threat to our American schools.
"Mothers, vote for Bush to keep the evil terrorists away from your kids' schools!" What happened to, "Kids, don't take candy from strangers!"

A Michigan school district (isn't Michigan one of those "swing states"?) was notified yesteray by federal law enforcement authorities that a CD "found in Iraq" contained crisis-planning information about their school district.

More than 100 school districts (wanna bet they are all in "swing states"?) -- including four in Michigan -- were awarded $28.6 million in grants to strengthen their emergency preparation and response plans, Secretary of Education Rod Paige announced Wednesday.

10. This whole Security Mom thing is a Rovian red herring.
Ask any mom out there whether she's more concerned about

1. terrorism in her schools

2. the possibility her Kids will wind up in Iraq.

what is she gonna choose?

or

1. terrorism in her schools

2. Whether she can afford healthcare for her children

what is she gonna choose?

or

1. terrorism in her schools

2. the price of everything right now.

what is she gonna choose.

there are no freakin' Security moms. i'll bet money on it.

I was thinking about it last night....typical Old COnservative Whie Male idea of what women would probably be afraid of.

We're weak and need to be protected. Bullshit. They are preying on fears we women don't really have.

3. Yep. We're really lucky!
And US Secretary of Education is MISSING IN ACTION on this issue.

Where's Rod?

From my blog today:

This Week's
Backside
Of The
Bell Curve

Winner

US Secretary Of Education

Rod Paige

On September 11, 2001, George W. Photo Op sat in a grade school classroom long after being told that America was under attack.

The retrofitted reason?

George W. didn't want to alarm the children.

Flash forward to July, 2004.

Our military forces in Iraq find information on American public schools (floor plans, emergency evacuation plans, etc.).

Of course, no one in Iraq has graduate level credentials in the field of education.

No one in Iraq could possibly be concerned with rebuilding schools (destroyed by George W.'s shock & awe shenanigans) and therefore interested in the American school model.

Of course, "Terrorists in Iraq" want to “shake our American will” by attacking grade schools in swing states just before the presidential election!

Hm. Remember that Russian grade school hostage situation last month?

Are you having a John Lennon Imagine Moment, too?

Russian grade school attack + American tradition of voting in local school buildings + swing states + generic terror warning fatigue = a perfect way to scare parents of small children into voting for George W. We'll-bomb-their-Middle- Eastern-Looking-Asses-So-You'll-Think-You're-Safe-And-Vote-For-Me--
You-Suckers.

Enter (right on cue) US Secretary of Education, Rod Paige’s Education Department.

Educators warned to watch schools

Schools in Springfield and across nation are urged to stay on alert for suspicious activities.

Washington —The Education Department has advised school leaders nationwide to watch for people spying on their buildings or buses to help detect any possibility of terrorism like the deadly school siege in Russia.

4. The dumbasses probably spent a full day trying to figure out which
terrorist organization uses the initials "PTA". (Must be those jihadists from the Harper Valley PTA!):eyes:
Ahoy, you clueless media peeps! Seems to me a school planner in Iraq would want a good crisis plan, what with the bombs and rockets and mortars flying all over the place, ya think?!
There must be a better way to support education than by scaring schools out of their wits. I know...ask John Kerry!
Ya dopes!

8. I teach in a rough inner-city school - Terrorists would be calling 911
within 30 minutes of taking our school.

11. We cannot even keep guns, bombs, and drugs out of our schools.
Ask the folks in Columbine. No Arabs involved there, but "red blooded American boys" who liked to attend gun and knife shows, and play violent video games. :nuke:

15. Good thing those terrorists always use English on those CDs, too.

Otherwise the translation would take, uh, months.
