Help wanted comparing photos - Hawsawi and Omar Saeed Sheikh
This is a photo of the "official" 9/11 paymaster Mustafa al-Hawsawi:

It is the only photo of him I know of and AFAIK was first published in "The Base" by BBC researcher Jane Corbin, who seems to have got it during a trip to the UAE, where he was active.

These are photos of the "unofficial" 9/11 paymaster Omar Saeed Sheikh:

It is claimed that these two people are the same and various complicated ways are used to prove this. However, I have a simple question: is the guy in the "Hawsawi" photo the same guy as in the OSS photo or not? They seem similar to me - compare, for example, the nose, eyebrows (hard, given the glasses) and lips, but the quality of the Hawsawi photo is so bad that I'm not at all sure. What does everybody think?

Paul Thompson has a piece about Omar Saeed Sheikh here:

5. Thanks, I was looking for that
According to Corbin, one of Mustafa Ahmed al-Hawsawi's aliases was "Shayk Said" (p. 173 of The Base). However, she doesn't manage to put 2 and 2 together and come up with 4 - she thinks Mustafa Ahmed and Saeed Sheikh are different people.

2. At first glance the first photo looks different than the bottom three
But I guess if you look really hard the nose shape is similar. But the top guys eyes look wide and open and Sheikh has those hooded eyes.

3. they look different to me-- not even close really
the cheekbones are broader for Mustafa al-Hawsawi (they jut out more from his face) than for Sheikh and Mustafa al-Hawsawi also has a much wider nose than Sheikh. Skin also appears much darker for Mustafa al-Hawsawi.

4. Thanks for the reply
However, Hawsawi's nose appears to be as wide as his mouth - this must surely be a trick of the light. As for the skin, yes it does look darker, but that could well be just a result of the way the photo is taken.

Anyway, I see that nobody agrees with me.
