9/11/2003 protest in New York City is organizing NOW!

Hey Stephanie, check this one out:
(reposted from a Yahoo NYC environmental activist group)

From: Joel Meyers <meyersjoel@y...>
Date: Sat Aug 16, 2003 11:53 am
Subject: Help plan/organize 9/11 protest.

All interested in planning, influencing and organizing the following
event are invited to take part in a meeting at the Washington Square
Trinity "Peace Church" (135 W. 4th St., bet. MacDougal St. and 6th
Ave.) tomorrow, Sunday, August 17 at 6:30pm.
The May 27 Coalition is considering an action to take place on the
upcoming Thursday, 9/11/2003, to counter the lies, hysteria and
genocidal war growing out of 9/11/2001.

At this point, what has been suggested is:

1) A rally at the Carlyle Investment Group, a major military
procurement profiteer firm, which united for years the Bush family, the
powers-that-be in the current Bush regime, and the demonized Bin Laden
family/Saudi Oil interests,

2) Followed by a march to Union Square, which became a gathering place
for discussion, debate and comeraderie immediately after 9/11/2001,
when travel to points south of 14th Street was forbidden to people who
could not show documents proving they lived or worked there.

Also contemplated is another action targeting the media as central
accomplices to the Bush administration and the military/industrial and
financial/corporate elite for which it fronts.
