"Flight 93" survived the Pennsylvania crash
One day after the attacks, Air Controllers of Washington ARTC Center related to Matthew L. Wald from the New York Times how they spotted an unidentified aircraft that "crossed their radar screen", approaching Washington from the West. They believed it was UA 93.

In contrast, controllers at the Washington Air Route Traffic Control Center had much more warning that something was wrong. Those controllers, who handled American Airlines Flight 77, which dived into the Pentagon, knew about the hijacking of the first plane to crash, even before it hit the World Trade Center, those involved said. That was more than an hour before they watched another hijacked plane, United Flight 93, cross their radar screen on its way to the Pentagon.

A quick look at an ARTCC map reveals that UA 93 never was in or near the airspace of Washington Center - according to the official story. Even when it crashed in Southern Pennsylvania, it was 50 miles out of this area.

So which airplane crossed the radar screen of the Washington controllers?

3. This does not make any sense.
I am just a little skeptical.

5. You're right
The plane observed by the Washington controllers was not Flight 93, as they told the NY Times reporter.

It was the mysterious Fifth Plane.

7. I'm ready to do that

if you plausibly explain to me how Flight 93 managed to appear on the radar screens of Washington controllers.

Otherwise, better you back away, but quickly please.

6. Transponders were off
With no transponders, they couldn't ID the flight.

Sorry about that.

77 crashed into the Pentagon. 93 dug a hole in Pennsylvania. End of story.

(they couldn't ID the flights, but they could ID the DNA surviving in bone and tooth fragments from passengers)

10. They couldn't ID the flight
I agree. That's why they wrongly assumed it was Flight 93.

But Flight 93 never entered the radar screens of Washington Center. So it must have been another plane.

The Fifth Plane.

11. I have no idea what they saw, but it wasn't UAL93.
If it was just a primary target (which it would have been) it could have been anybody....there are always scores of primary targets flying around.

What are you getting at with this?

12. Scores of Primary targets
In a given region like Cleveland ATC, there are scores of UFO's flying around?

Surely, these UFO's are not ignored, right?

What's the time frame? How long do you ATC'ers have before a UFO has to be identified?

13. Yes, scores...hundreds in Cleveland Center's entire airspace.
All aircraft are not required to use a transponder. They still cause a radar return. We don't identify them...there's no way to even if we wanted to.

Get with the program will'ya. Stop all this first hand information. It's stifling debate. You need to stay focused on speculation and conjecture.

How else will this OCT ever get unraveled?

16. I feel safer....not
Knowing that there are hundreds of UFO's flying around and nobody gives a shit.

Tell us, can altitude be established from radar?

17. It's not that we don't "give a shit".
There's simply no way to identify them.

Without a transponder, altitude can't be determined.
