PA postpones releasing election results

The release of the final results of Thursday's elections for 84 municipalities and village councils in the West Bank and Gaza has been postponed, though officials said the delay was unrelated to fraud allegations.

Unofficial results published over the weekend gave Fatah more than 58 percent of the votes (499 seats) and Hamas 33% (299 seats). Hamas candidates reportedly won in 34 out of 68 municipalities in the West Bank. In the Gaza Strip they won in four out of seven municipalities.

Eight Palestinians were injured in clashes that erupted on Saturday morning between supporters of Hamas and Fatah in Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip following reports that the Islamic movement had won the city's local elections. The clashes in Rafah erupted after exit polls showed that Hamas candidates had won 13 put of the 15 council seats.

Angry Fatah leaders rejected the results, claiming that the Hamas victory had been achieved through fraudulent tactics, saying that in some cases voters used identity cards of deceased individuals. Fatah has demanded a revote in the Rafah and Beit Lahiya municipalities, Army Radio reported.

Postpone releasing results ? Maybe they are even worse than what they first thought.

And i'm disgusted that hamas, who are known for war crimes in murdering innocent israelis, would be EVER accused of cheating.
