"Palestinian farmer has been badly injured in an alleged attacked by settlers in the Nablus region of the northern West Bank.

Security sources and witnesses say the 38-year-old has been transferred to hospital, where medics have classified his condition as serious.

They say the farmer was beaten with clubs and rifle butts by a group of settlers, as he was gathering figs near the Israeli settlement of Itamar.

Medics say he suffered multiple fractures, and was bleeding heavily on his arrival at hospital."
