IDF deaths sharpen debate over Israeli presence in Gaza
As the toll of Israelis killed since the September, 2000 outbreak of the uprising passed the 1,000 mark, the deaths of 11 IDF soldiers over the past two days sharpened debate Thursday over Israel's presence in the Gaza Strip.

Actor Shlomo Vishinski, whose son Lior, 20, was one of five IDF soldiers killed Wednesday evening in an Islamic Jihad attack on an armored personnel carrier, said Thursday that the Likud members who rejected the Gaza withdrawal in a vote last week were responsible for the death of his son.

The attack came 36 hours after six soldiers were killed in an attack on an APC in Gaza's Zeitun Quarter.
