Two Palestinian collaborators sentenced to death by firing squad
Date: 15 / 07 / 2008 Time: 13:58

Hebron - Ma'an - A Palestinian military court in the West Bank city of Jenin on Tuesday sentenced two Palestinians to death by firing squad, after they were found guilty of collaborating with Israel.

Twenty-seven-year-old Wa’el Sa’id Sa’ed Sa’ed, from the village of Yatta in the Hebron governorate was present in court when the sentence was handed down. His co-defendent Mohammad Sa’ed Mahmoud Sa’ed from Hebron was sentenced in absentia.

Both men were found guilty of passing information about Palestinian resistance fighters in the West Bank to the Israeli authorities, as a result of which the Israeli army carried out a number of targeted assassinations and detentions.

The issued sentences are inalienable and are ratified by Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.

1. Update...Rights group urges Abbas to commute sentences
Date: 16 / 07 / 2008 Time: 22:13

Bethlehem – Ma'an – The Palestinian Center for Human Rights (PCHR) urged Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas to commute the sentences of two convicted collaborators and instate a moratorium on the death penalty in the Palestinian territories.

On Tuesday, a special Military Court sentenced 27-year-old Wa’el Sa’id Sa’ed Sa’ed and 44-year-old Mohammad Sa’ed Mahmoud Sa’ed to death by firing squad for supplying information to the Israeli occupation. Both men are from the town of Yatta, south of Hebron, in the West Bank.

The death sentence was passed against Wa’el Sa’ed in his presence, and against Mohammad Sa’ed in absentia, as he has already fled to Israel. The military court charged both men with treason and conspiracy, in violation of Article 131 of the Revolutionary Penal Code of 1979.

By law, the Palestinian President must give final approval before the sentences are carried out.

3. Let me get this straight
Murderers get a parade and collaborators get the death penalty.

5. Such is the way in with militants and their supporters
who celebrate murder and death of Israelis over their own people having a state, jobs, food.

It really is a sickness in these people.

We just can't excuse it by saying it is the fault of war or occupation, or anything else.

Sane people do not act like this.

6. Sickness if the perfect word for it
I wonder where the usual apologist are trying to explain (excuse) this.
