PA forces nab mentally disabled youth with fake explosive belt

Palestinian intelligence services arrested a mentally disabled youth from Bethlehem on Sunday evening after Israeli security forces went on high alert in Jerusalem due to reports of a potential suicide bomber from the Bethlehem region, according to a broadcast report.

Palestinian sources told Israel Radio on Sunday that the youth had escaped from a mental health institute where he was hospitalized and was subsequently spotted carrying a fake bomb belt. The youth was heard saying he had planned to carry out a terrorist attack.

PA authorities say the youth will be readmitted to the hospital.
