Wayne LaPierre: "NRA is one of the largest police organizations in the
country". He just said it on Tweety's show.
Is he kidding? Doesn't he read all the attacks on police in this forum? Doesn't he read his own words? The relentless attacks on federal law enforcement personnel? Remember?
Yeah right, Wayne. You're a police organization. Officers Weaver, Koresh, and McVeigh surely agree with you.

6. What SHOULD make you nervous
is that the propaganda you have been spoon fed for 10+ years by the likes of the Brady bunch and the VPC is starting to fester. You ought to spend some time reading up on gun control issues so as to avoid that uncomfortable feeling one might refer to as blissfully complacent ignorance.

5. Easier to complain about the NRA
than discuss the actual issues, which might involve actually reading a bill proposed in congress or a law that was passed 10 to 70 years ago.

...that just announced a $400,000 anti-Kerry ad buy in several key battleground states. If most Democrats aren't as fond of the NRA as you RKBA types are, we have good reason.....

11. Plus, Wayne said the NRA supports the automatic weapons ban
from 1934, or whatever. (sure you do Wayne)
The guy debating Wayne pointed out that you can empty a 30 round clip in a full auto M16 in about 2 seconds, while the semi-auto AR15 takes 5 seconds. Wayne didn't bother regurgitating NRA talking point #2687-B.1: "It's a magazine you moron. Since you didn't use the correct terminology, then you have no business commenting on gun control".
Why is it so important for NRA members to have the right to shoot 30 rounds from an AR15 in 5 seconds? In Michigan, hunters are limited to the number of rounds in their shotgun while hunting. I think it's three rounds. I'm guessing that those who hunt with rifles or handguns are limited in the number of rounds they can have in their magazines, too.
I don't hear any of those hunters complaining that their Constitutional Rights are being infringed by those limits.

12. Yeah most of us have realized that since 1934.
NRA supports the NFA, what a shocker! :eyes:

I'd like to see you pull a trigger 30 times in 5 seconds. Then I'd like to see you do it accurately.

As you say, it has nothing to do with hunting.

That is a bullshit claim. I bet that not even Jerry Miculek could do it.

15. I think it is an extrapolation of the Jerry Miculek world record
quick shoot. If you watch 3 gun matches some of the professional competitors with AR15s sound like they're using 3 shot bursts but they're not. once again, like the swift boat liars, a gross distortion by the media but what's new?

18. Then you are a faster man than I.
I can do it in 11 to 13 seconds. There is no way in hell to pull the trigger 6 times in one second, unless you are Jerry or some other super-human trigger puller. Perhaps bump-firing?

They are one of the biggest trainers of Police Officers in the United States. That does not mean that they represent police. However, a statement that they are one of the biggest police organizations is factually correct.
