GOP Hypocrite of the Week: Larry Craig
GOP Hypocrite of the Week: Larry Craig

A BUZZFLASH EDITORIAL

Listen to the GOPHOTW HERE.

Welcome back to the BuzzFlash GOP Hypocrite of the Week.

It's not often that a member of the NRA Board of Directors and a United States Senator shoots himself in the foot. After all, Senator Larry Craig of Idaho boasts being a member of the National Rifle Association "Winning Team" -- or after this week, more likely the NRA "Losing Team."

3. And on the subject of pro-gun Republican humholes
"WASHINGTON - Sen. Norm Coleman, who backed the assault weapons ban as a candidate two years ago, voted not to extend the ban Tuesday, calling the law ineffective.
The ban passed the Senate, 52-47, with the support of 10 Republicans, but it was killed hours later when the Senate defeated the bill it was attached to, which would have immunized the gun industry from lawsuits.
The ban includes the manufacture and importation of at least 19 types of common military-style assault weapons.
In a 2002 debate with then-Sen. Paul Wellstone, D-Minn., Coleman said he supported the ban as long as it was not extended to semiautomatic hunting guns."
