A short analysis on Joe Zamudio.
Despite all the wailing and gnashing of pet hyperboles by the anti-carry people, an actual expert on defensive use of firearms says that Joe Zamudio, the concealed carry Citizen who unfortunately arrived too late at the scene of the Giffords shooting in Tucson, did everything exactly right. Pertinent portion of GunTalk episode starts at 28:00, full interview starts at 24:55.

1. Bully for Joe Zamudio. But Lochner and his gun and ammo made the armed samaritan irrelevant.

3. The fact that Zamudio was around the corner in a store
and not in the audience made it irrelevant.

6. Well if he was in the audience he stood a damned good chance of getting shot down too.
That's the absurdity of arming everyone.

It heightens the pressure to shoot first with the most ammo.

8. "shot down too" by who?
Lochner, loughner? Can't be too concerned to have your names (facts) down can you?

Makes you and your post irrelevant.

Their names are not the point of the policy discussion.

7. A society which specifies that guns and ammo be limited to law enforcement is not fascism.
To suggest such a thing is to confess a delusion that you might just go to war with the government.

1) You're not going to war with the government.
2) You do not possess any such right.

23. Yeah, but only for a little while...
I know this: The Civil War rendered the 2nd Amendment entirely obsolete.

Then the failure of Radical Reconstruction and the subsequent rise of Jim Crow brought it back: "Sorry, folks, the war's over and we can't help you. You and the Klan will just have to shoot it out."

Isn't the Arbitrary & Simplistic Historical Event Significance Attribution game fun? Let's play some more.

41. That analogy is so fucked up I don't even know how to describe it.
If you seriously believe that a constitutionally correct ruling which you disagree with because it lets people own guns, is equivalent to a famously INcorrect ruling which encouraged people to own PEOPLE, shows your grotesque lack of perspective on the matter.

A society which specifies that guns and ammo be limited to law enforcement, in spite of being CLEARLY and unequivocally restricted by law from doing so IS a facist state.

36. "Fascist State" sounds so harsh, accurate but harsh, how about just calling it ...
.... what Share's would really like, A Police State. A place where the police are the ultimate arbiters of the law based on an individual's interpretation of the law. You know, like Philadelphia and Chicago?

It is quite possible that the reason the United States has the longest lasting written Constitution in the world is the Bill of Rights and in particular, the First and Second Amendment.

ran into the gunfire, not away from it. He was armed, prepared, and willing to defend the victims at the risk of his own life.

His actions demonstrate the personal characteristics heroes are made of.
