Rep. Slocum: 'Shoot First' Bill Will Increase Gun Violence (MN)
http://richfield.patch.com/articles/rep-slocum-shoot-first-bill-will-increase-gun-violence

The Minnesota House of Representatives passed HF 1467, the Omnibus Gun Bill Friday. The bill makes significant changes to law enforcement ability to seize weapons, gun permit regulations, and establishes an expansion “castle doctrine.”

State Rep. Linda Slocum (DFL–Richfield) said this bill will dramatically hurt public safety.

“The entire bill is full of unnecessary and, quite frankly, foolish public policy,” Slocum said. “This ‘Shoot First’ Bill won’t make Minnesotans safer and won’t help law enforcement officials do their jobs.”

HF 1467 greatly expands the “castle doctrine” to allow citizens to use deadly force in self-defense. Minnesota currently has a law that allows citizens to use deadly force if the potential victim believed they were facing imminent death or serious bodily harm.

5. I want full 2A
Rights restored to all Americans. If that means an incremental approach then so be it.
That strategy has worked pretty well for anti gun folks for many decades.

4. How utterly ridiculous..
I mean, how are we supposed to take seriously someone who claims this bill will allow property owners to shoot "children playing hide and go seek"?

7. How am I
Supposed to take seriously , someone who is dishonest enough
to use the words serious body harm in place of great bodily harm.
There is a substancial difference.

8. You know what's funny, jpak..
...is you keep talking about "backlash" against the GOP and the NRA, but the reality I think is that people such as Rep. Slocum and yourself are actually driving a backlash in the other direction, and have been for some time. Ever since you guys have started crying wolf, people have been waking up to how amazingly dishonest you guys are, and how stupid you must think they are to believe your nonsense. You guys scream about "blood running in the streets" every time a bill like this gets proposed, and each and every time you are completely wrong. You NEVER have evidence out side of anecdotal to bring to the plate, and what little research you try to bring forward is so full of holes and logical fallacies as to be laughable.

People like Rep. Slocum are the climate change deniers of the Second Amendment rights issues, and you seem to fall happily into their camp.
