Other students said allowing guns on campus can threaten the safety of students, especially if alcohol is a factor.

you can just give that right up, you know, to make other people happy. So they "feel" better. Especially when DECADES of crime statistics show the exact opposite effect of CCW and criminal behavior. You cant really hide your race, but you can alter your beliefs to make others "feel" better. The topic being the proposed legalization of concealed carry on the grounds of institution of tertiary education in the State of Texas. Do we really need a separate thread for every. single. fluff piece that appears in some rag? Or would it really be too much to ask to have just one thread on this topic, and put all the references into that one thread?

15. And let me throw in my own son's comments

He is a student at UTEP. He is "all for" allowing anyone that is willing to go through the process of obtaining a CCw to carry on campus. UTEP is literally a stones throw from Juarez mexico and has been hit with stray gunfire from across the border in Mexico.

You can talk to dozens of students and get dozens of opposing opinions.
