‘D.C. Gun Bill: Fact And Fiction’ from the NRA is false and deceiving

Today, Friday, February 18, 2011 the NRA-ILA issued a partial denial of the facts I laid out in my article of yesterday "NRA endorses gun control bill in Congress - H.R. 645"

Putting aside that their article did not publish either a link to my article or a link to Congressional bill H.R. 645 so their readers could read my article, compare it to the proposed legislation and decide for themselves; the NRA did not deny the most damning aspect of this bill.

“H.R. 645 would...allow D.C. to decide who can and who cannot carry a handgun, openly or concealed. Given that this city just had a ban on the ownership of all handguns overturned by the High Court, only a fool would think the city would issue any licenses to carry. Therefore, this bill would ban both the Open Carry and Concealed Carry of handguns.

H.R. 645 bans the Open Carry of long guns (rifles and shotguns as well) by the same token.”
