Rush and Justice
It just occurred to me that if Rush goes up on felony charges of any kind in Florida he will have his right to vote immediately removed. Can you picture the junkie going to vote and finding out his name's on a list of convicted felons. Oh, sweet justice will be upon his head that day in Florida I tell you.

1. I'm Waiting......
....for the Florida authorities, armed with a warrant for his arrest, to enter his bunker and drag him away while he's on the air. To me, that would truly be "Excellence In Broadcasting".

:-)

3. He didn't register to vote unti he was in his 30's
Yep, you heard me right. He thinks Reagan should be on Mt. Rushmore, and never vote for the guy. What a hypocrite.

4. Clarify for me...
Obviously, a felony conviction will result in the removal of voting rights. Can a person vote with charges pending?

5. Only convictions count
Even people in jail awaiting trial can vote absentee, as long as they don't have a prior felony conviction. It would surely qualify as disenfranchisement for someone to be denied the right to vote merely on being accused or charged with a crime - imagine the stink such a person could raise if they are acquitted.

13. Felony convictions do not necessarily keep a person
from legally casting a vote. It depends on the type of conviction. A good case in point is my brother. His was a nonviolent felony conviction, over thirty years ago, and he has been able to vote ever since. But in Rush's case, we can only hope that the laws in Fla. are different than in Missouri.

7. Gun rights too
Felons can't have guns.

The guy's a dick, no doubt about it, but I still think the drug war is wrong.

8. I wish I
could believe he will really be convicted. But federal prosecutors have to follow Asscroft now and Rush is too much of an advantage to this administration for him to go down. I hope I am wrong, but from what we have seen happen before I just don't see it. My cynicism has really taken over today. After watching the so-called press conf with Mort Sahl.

10. Actually
I don't know. I just assumed since it dealt with drugs it would be part of the DEA. Either way I just feel it won't happen.

11. high profile white man = slap on the wrist
Plea to a lesser charge(misdemeanor) get Community service and jail time suspended, pending some lame treatment program. Probably after successful compeletion of treatment the records will be expunged.

12. If it happened in California he'd get diversion for sure
FYI first offenders are guaranteed to get treatment and no criminal record. Not so for subsequent offenses.
