Gun Show Undercover
I had seen an ad for this on Facebook. Most times I just ignore the ads that come up on there because they're just run of the mill crap. But this ad for Gun Show Undercover caught my attention.

It's a report by the government of New York City about the problems of illegal buying and selling of weapons at gun shows. Such as people getting around the law by filling out a form for someone else, people abusing the private seller status, and so on.

1. That's why cities want certain restrictions
like one gun a month.

Or closing the gun show loophole in the background check laws.

But anti gun control folks won't have any of that.

7. This isn't the "gunshow loophole"
as far as I understand it. This is licensed gun dealers who are making a choice to break the law. If they get caught selling to someone who they legally cannot, then I say revoke their license permanently (nation wide) and fine them. Fine them big time. Like $50,000 per negligent sale.

I think that making a serious increase in the penalties and not allowing gun charges to be bargained down would go a long way toward stopping this kind of sale.

3. According the the FBI..
LESS THAN .7% of Crime Guns come from Gun Shows...

http://www.ojp.usdoj.gov/bjs/pub/press/fuopr.htm

Inmates serving time in state prisons during 1997 said they obtained their guns from the following sources in percentages:

Purchased from a retail store 8.3 percent
Purchased at a pawn shop 3.8
Purchased at a flea market 1.0
Purchased in a gun show 0.7
Obtained from friends or family 39.6
Got on the street/illegal source 39.2

6. The last two categories are rubbish -- where did THOSE guns come from?
You have a listing of four places where people PURCHASE guns, then at the end you have these two uselessly vague "other" sources.

So where did the "friends or family" get their guns? Where did the "on the street/illegal source" guns come from?

Some manufacturer MADE those guns. Someone SOLD those guns. Someone BOUGHT those guns. Those guns did not appear out of thin air, they came from SOMEWHERE.

9. You fail to underdstand the facts
It is a study of where CRIMINALS got the gun they used in their CRIME. The last two categories are hardly "rubbish" as it shows that a majority of guns used in crime are obtained ILLEGALLY.

5. Bloomberg is a open joke down here..
Watch, as he gives his kiss of death to Repuke. Over Democrat Chap Petersen, who went on to handily defeat that vile Repuke. She has been since been put out to pasture.

He is radioactive down here. Our Attorny General has put him and his cronies on notice, that if they come back down here and continue to break VA Law, criminal charges WILL follow...
