30 days (FX Channel)-"Gun Nation" episode
Next week in most areas (I believe).

This ought to be interesting.

I really enjoy this guy's work. The animal rights show was kinda dorky though, I mean no seasoned hunter could dare think PETA as a reasonable organization. But, you can make up your minds next time it airs.

I'm really looking forward to next week shows.

Installment 5:

PARTICIPANT - Pia Lalli, 39
RESIDES - Brockton, MA
OCCUPATION - Aerobics Instructor
AIRDATE - Tuesday, July 1, 2008

After Pia learned that her friend had been killed by a schizophrenic man wielding a gun in 1996, she became a gun control advocate who has fought to pass stricter gun laws in the U.S. Pia believes that the world would be free from gun violence only by prohibiting the sale of guns to anyone outside of law enforcement and armed services.

For 30 Days, Pia will live in the heart of gun culture in the rural town of Leesburg, Ohio with gun enthusiast Ken Ekermeyer, 39, and his 15-year-old son Zach. Ken is an avid gun collector and rarely leaves home without his gun strapped to his side. Ken believes carrying a gun is his right guaranteed to every American by the Second Amendment. As Pia struggles to understand the Ekermeyer's beliefs and somewhat isolated way of life, she will work at a local gun store and experience what it is like to carry a gun in public, learn to handle and fire weapons and will introduce Ken to other gun control activists who have lost loved ones to gun violence.

1. I love this show.
I watched a mini-marathon a few weeks ago and was riveted by the episode with the Mom/binge drinker daughter. Also, the episode with the evangelical Christian having to go live with a Muslim family was very thought-provoking and would be excellent viewing material for Jr. high and high school students. It really was enlightening about Islam and demonstrated how prejudices take root in people. I am trying to get my own kids to watch the episode tonight with me, but am having trouble selling them on the idea.

:hi:

2. The Muslim episode was brilliant.
I had the same thoughts about it with regard to students. It was fascinating watching the young Christian man have this experience. Good luck with the kids. :D

3. Definitely looking forward to it!
There's so much mis-information and ignorant beliefs held by anti's. I think every anti should be exposed to how people who aren't criminals enjoy their guns.
