Eight bombs go off at once (Athens, Greece)
Athens - Eight propane-gas bombs exploded nearly simultaneously during the night at offices of the ruling political party and bank cash points in the Greek capital, Athens radio reported on Friday.

There were no injuries but substantial damage was caused by the explosions, all of which occurred outside of the buildings targeted.

2. NOW... THIS IS A SUCCESSFUL TERRORIST ATTACK!!!!
Notice... "NO CASUALTIES AND NO INJURIES"

When somebody attacks the structure of a political organization or a financial institution without injuring or killing anybody, people start to look at why the terrorists are attacking these organizations and the terrorist can actually gain public support because the people don't feel like the terrorists are attacking them. When somebody kills people or injures people with their attacks, the people think "We've gotta kill them before they kill us."

Watch... The Greek's reaction to these attacks on the New Democracy Party isn't going to be the same as our reaction to 9/11. Whoever planned these attacks, understands the concept of winning people over. Unlike 9/11, I seriously doubt the people of Greece are going to rally around this 'New Democracy Party'. More than likely, the 'New Democracy Party' is going to find themselves in a political shitstorm due to these attacks and that's because these attacks didn't target the people.

Ask yourself... How would you have reacted if 9/11 was just an attack on the Pentagon and the NYSE that resulted in zero deaths and zero casualties. Instead of thinking... "Wow, those terrorists screwed up big time!!!", many people would've been thinking "Wow, what are our military and corporations doing to piss these people off?"

SO.... for the terrorist's future reference... "DON'T KILL PEOPLE WHEN ATTACKING A POLITICAL OR FINANCIAL TARGET!!!" You won't piss the people off nearly as much and you may actually get people to start looking at your point of view.

3. Neither the general public nor the authorities, in general, will ...
... distinguish an attack on property from an attack on property and people.

History suggests that even "attacks" with "bombs" which do little actual damage will often be seized upon as an pretext for violent counter-measures.

Moreover, bombs which are really designed to destroy property always have the potential to take human life, and in cases where only property is destroyed, the general public reaction will be "Well, we were lucky THIS time," not "Hey! I think the bombers have a point."
