1. Who writes these things?
"Yes, he has gotten people to pay attention to a major long-term threat to everyone."
"No, he's an alarmist and besides, what does warming have to do with a peace prize?"

These sound like an answers on someone's 7th-grade social studies final.

2. No kidding
Not to mention the limitations of having to choose between only two rather sophomoric answers. Regardless, I voted. And the vote was overwhelmingly the first (72%).

and sometimes some of 'US' certainly act like 'WE' are.

7. Global warming >>> societal disruption and destabilization>>>
conflict and death.

This nomination is a good example of BIG PICTURE THINKING. Gore really gets it, and hopefully the Nobel selection committee will also.

12. Here are a few web references on that:
http://money.cnn.com/2007/02/02/news/companies/exxon_science/index.htm
and
http://www.guardian.co.uk/frontpage/story/0,,2004399,00.html

I had the .pdf document of that $10,000 "offer", but seem to have misplaced it. It should be easily located though.

19. I found that AEI "offer".!
Here it is: http://websrvr80il.audiovideoweb.com/il80web20037/ThinkProgress/2007/aeiletter.pdf

It's perfectly "legal" --- it's not a "bribe", but an "invitation"!

13. Is the MEDIA paying attention?
If they were THEY would be the ones spreading this truth based on its MORAL urgency instead of using this as some sort of political football. Screw MSNBC, and screw the "mainstream" media for their IRRESPONSIBILITY in reporting on this crisis and educating people. Yeah, just what we need from them, another stupid poll.
