Alliance to Manufacture Wind Turbines in Texas
http://www.renewableenergyaccess.com/rea/news/story?id=46681

Composite Technology Corporation (CTC) and TECO-Westinghouse Motor Company signed an agreement to manufacture, research and develop further advances to the DeWind range of wind turbines, and to improve efficiency and reliability through service and maintenance activities within North America.

The proposed manufacturing agreement provides for TECO-Westinghouse to manufacture the DeWind D8.2 turbine for CTC for distribution to the North American market.

"This agreement is expected to lead to a full, turnkey manufacturing relationship that will allow our wind turbine subsidiary, DeWind, Inc., to execute substantial turbine orders for our advanced DeWind D8.2 that we are finalizing," said Benton Wilcoxon, Chairman and CEO of CTC.

The Strategic Alliance Agreement provides for local manufacturing in Texas, the state that currently generates the largest amount of wind derived kilowatts. The DeWind D8.2 will be assembled at the ISO 9000 certified TECO-Westinghouse factory in Round Rock, Texas.

1. growth of wind turbine manufacturing capacity - great! this will enable continued strong growth in

wind power installations and hopefully reduce that lead time for wind turbines.

Business responds to market demand. We can't wait for the feds to catch up nationally. We have to demand it at the local level and pay for it; even if it costs a little more at first.
