Toyota Plans Major Solar Thin-Film Roofing Project (NJ)
http://www.renewableenergyaccess.com/rea/home

(scroll down to "latest headlines")

Solar Integrated Technologies has been awarded a contract by Toyota Motor Sales, USA, Inc. to provide a 700 kW BIPV (Building-Integrated PV - my edit) roofing system for their New York region parts-distribution center located in West Caldwell, New Jersey.

<snip>

This 700 kW solar project, located in West Caldwell, is the largest size system eligible for New Jersey's solar program. New Jersey has become a very active market for solar applications due to its solar rebates and other incentive programs including tax exemptions.

<end - one paragraph blurb>

12. I think it's highly feasible for hybrids, and with a plug-in option would
REALLY be cool! You'd only rarely need gas.

13. I think the amount of solar a Prius roof would collect...
Wouldn't do a whole lot. Moving a car at speed really takes a lot of energy.

However, every little bit helps.

14. For the folks who do slow city driving, it would be a boost to the
batteries that they would appreciate. Nobody expects rooftop solar to RUN a car, but if it keeps the batteries on a hybrid more topped off, that's a tangible benefit.

16. In the heart of many downtowns it might be an issue, but here in Los
Angeles, most parts of this HUGE city have way too much sun. Like today.

10. there are many distributors
in our area is the famous Real Goods and they have everything solar. They run their store on solar and it looks as though they are supplying electricity to the grid as well.

Go to your fav web search and look for it!

You will love solar. No line hum.
