United Solar Ovonic Showcases Its New Residential Solar System On A Habitat For Humanity Home

United Solar Ovonic has unveiled its new residential solar system in Traverse City, Mich. to power a Habitat for Humanity home. On July 22, Governors of several states participated in building a Habitat for Humanity home powered by the UNI-SOLAR lightweight, flexible thin-film solar panels. This aesthetically appealing residential solar system has low installation cost and short installation time.
"The system we are installing represents the state-of-the-art in solar technology, and it aligns with the Habitat for Humanity's commitment to energy-efficient, healthy and environmentally-friendly building processes," said Subhendu Guha, president and chief operating officer of United Solar Ovonic. "We are delighted to have the opportunity to showcase our soon to be released residential solar system on a Habitat for Humanity project."

"With these new investments, United Solar Ovonic is making Michigan a leader in cutting edge alternative energy technology, diversifying Michigan's economy and creating jobs," said Governor Jennifer M. Granholm. "Beyond contributing to Michigan's economic transformation, the company is a good corporate citizen dedicated to supporting its community."

Allen Brothers, Inc., based in Rochester Hills, Mich., participated in the design and delivery of this innovative solar roofing system for the residential market.
