Did anybody else hear Trump's laying off 300+ year-round casino workers?
When the gambling house, get-rich-quick advertised but get-poor-quick reality houses start firing people due to a bad economy, you know that things are REALLY BAD!!!!
The place I work in is one of the only ones bucking a city-wide trend in tourism being flat or even down compared to previous years. The reasons why we're doing okay are that we gave up our Holiday Inn franchise (people who come here and stay in chain hotels by and large aren't gambling tourists) and that we have low limits.
The big houses aren't hurting too badly - yet - but I don't see how they can justify practically owning the Travel Channel and doing all the other advertising if it's not bringing droves of people in.
